The best thing to do is get a decent but inexpensive PC AND a PS4 and/or other consoles/handhelds.

Or do what I did and spring for a pretty sweet PC that you don't need to upgrade for several years, then buy the PS4 or whatever after it's had a few years to pad out the library and drop in price.

I can't tell if the fact that you make these threads on a regular basis is funny or mildly depressing.

you need double PS4 specs to compete because of optimization

No, you need double the CPU performance. This build has that covered.

Stop trying to make a PC to match the PS4. Thats not the goal. We can destroy the PS4 for the price of a home (non gaming) PC + a PS4.

This, a thousand times this.

All these PC reassurance topics are so annoying. People looking for quality conversation don't need or want that here, and it makes us look pathetic to anyone browsing this board.

Let's keep consoles and nice, high-quality PCs on different playing fields. Stop trying to compare the two like apples to apples.

Building a gaming machine with a performance target and strict budget is fun. Chill out, relax.

But, does it have Naughty Dog, Kojima, Tales of, etc?

You seem very insecure about this PC vs PS4 thing, has their trolling really affected you that much?

This is in reply to all those "hurr can I build a PS4 PC" topics. Yes, you can. End of story.

inb4 Linux has no games and as such isn't comparable.

So in many respects this build is exactly like a PS4.

So if you think ports are lame, then you must think the initial release is lame. Therefore the games that come out for PS4 are lame. ENJOY YOUR LAME RELEASES :D (sarcasm of course but seriously your statement was dumb as bricks.)

Yay a PC that's missing any sort of optical input drive, or controller, or an OS that's supported by most major games. Not to mention that the $80 in MIRs, or the less than stellar 7850.

If you want the top end gaming experience, build a gaming PC.
If you have $400 to spend on hardware, buy a console.
