I particularly curious about how it would run DotA 2 and Skyrim as those are the main two games I play these days.

Since I'm willing to spend that much (around $900) do you think it's an ok deal? I definitely don't mind being refurbished and have good experience doing so

Is that your max budget? How high are you willing to go and how set on ASUS are you?

660M destroys. I'm currently playing Battlefield 4 on Utlra with no AA and it runs perfectly for me.

That laptop isn't really worth the money. You can get a more powerful new Lenovo for less.

How important is the 17.3" screen to you? For example, The N550JV-DB71 has comparable specs (4700MQ and 750M), a 15.6" screen, and is much more mobile (more than 3 lb lighter, thinner, 2-3 hrs longer battery life, easy to fit into carrying bags), but if you're looking primarily for large screen and comfort, then it's not as good.
