I guess a question to ask is how much VRAM does your 680's have?

4gb version of gtx 680 sli

Yeah man, hold off. The main reason I want to upgrade my 680 is because it's the 2GB version and some games are pushing past that. The "lowest" you're going to get maxing the most taxing game in that set up is about 50fps....

If you have money like that to drop then why are you gaming on a single 1080p monitor? Get a 1440p or higher res monitor instead.

Overkill now? Definitely, but I would also use the term future-proof.

I've been trying to convince, and then talking myself out of getting a new graphics card for the last several months, lol. They way things are going, Nvidia will probably release a Titan 2 in the next few months the way they've been releasing cards.

No, not overkill. The next console gen is upon us. We'll be seeing a lot more games that require as much if not more power than Crysis 3.

So you can go all in now, or you can wait until you start having to turn things down just to maintain 60fps
Oh, you thought they made this game for you? You clearly bought the wrong game.

Future proof? His current rig is future proof and by the time that rig needs upgrading, they'll have cards way more powerful than a 780Ti. I mean ****, the Titan was already dethroned within the first year.

I have SLI 780's and run 3 24" monitors. I wouldn't say its overkill for triple monitors. Arma 3. Max settings @ 5760x1080 = around 70-80 fps, Battlefield 3 was around 100-140 fps. Will be getting battlefield 4 soon. I plan on getting SLI 790's when they come out so if you want to wait ill sell you my 780's for a good price.

Here is some pics of my beauty.
