I want to be gaming for the next 5 years at a high level at 1080p. So having that in mind, which card would you guys recommend me to buy from this list and why?

Can the 8800GT from 5 years ago run game at high at 1080p today? Not even close. Reconsider.

760 4GB is not worth it. Get a 280x if you are going to spend $300.

Depends on how things go and what games you play, but it's quite possible that everything short of 780Ti isn't going to be running high in 1080 at more than 30fps in a couple years in some more demanding software.
Basically, futureproofing a GPU is impossible. Best to get what you can afford now, enjoy it, and if you need more performance at some point and seriously just can't stand the idea of turning some settings down at all, buy a new GPU.
Personally, rather than a reference 290x, I'd wait for non-reference 290 or grab a 780 Lightning.

You just can't make a PC "future proof" in that way.

Today's highest end GPU will be able to play future games better than the weaker GPUs, but you just can't expect playing at high for five years.

Get a bang for the buck GPU today and be prepared to upgrade once it's showing its age.

I'd get the 290 but you need to install an afmrkt cooler or wait for the customs

That or get a GTX 780

Yeah it seems that the 290 overheats a little too much too fast. So i would get a cooler if i buy it.

What do you think about this 780? Good price? Also if you ever tried it what are your thoughts on the card?
