you dont need a 5ghz router to play games or watch video

my max download is 15 megs, and on wifi, 2.4, through a couple walls, i still get 15 megs

im not sure what the question about the ps3 was about, he never mentioned ps3

I want to buy the Netgear N900 (didn't know about it until moments ago) to connect to my PS3 to give it a wired connection. Hopefully it'll give my internet connection on my PS3 a boost, so I can watch HD videos from youtube, Hulu, and Crunchyroll. As well as decrease lagging for online gaming. Or simply connect it to my DSL modem to give my wireless devices (2 laptops, an ipod, and my PS3) better signals.

I have an Actiontec GT784WNV DSL modem from Verizon and was wondering if the N900 is compatible with it. I have a 0.75-1.5mbps connection, even though it supposedly can go up to 15 mbps.(I updated my DSL service to the "Enhanced" edition a few months ago) I've looked at some videos and one person uploaded his download speed which was at around 20 mbps when he used a Netgear N900.

routers are generic itll work with anything

someone elses download speed is irrelevant to yours

We're Americans! We don't quit just because we're wrong.
We just keep doing the wrong thing until it turns out right.

Oh, I lost my ethernet cable so I can't connect anything to the modem. I saw these CAT6 flat cables with RJ45 connectors at Walmart and was wondering what that is exactly.
