Does it bother anyone else that newscasters always pronounced anything with Mario in it as "Marry-O"...I mean, it's a proper name, how friggin' hard is it to say "Mahr-y-o"

i only hear 'Merkins say Marry-O.

i never heard an English speaker in Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa EVER say Marry-O (unless they're a 'Merkin in that country).

"PC gaming has been a withering entity lately. Consoles rule, and game makers primarily target Sony's PlayStation and Microsoft's Xbox as the game systems of choice. That hasn't stopped PC gaming specialists from trying their best, though."

I guess they never heard about the 60 million some thing Steam users out there...

If any thing since Steam has exploded I'd say PC is on the up swing if any thing.

I would have a lot more faith in pc gaming if i see some what of a number when it comes to how many copies certain recent pc game sold, or maybe how much it made on just the pc version. But sadly we don't have any solid number to counter the "withering" argument.

Like for example, when Mario Andretti did racing they said: Ma-ree-oh...not May-ree-oh... or Marry-oh.

It has never been "marry-oh" except to uneducated people.

I don't know why they won't release actual statistics on digital sales, but that's where most of the games are sold these days on PC. Since only retailers seem to report their sales figures, that's where everyone gets the idea that PC gaming is dying.

The only time I ever hear sales figures mentioned is when they pass a milestone (100,000 copies sold on the first day!) or when they don't meet their expectations ("we needed 6 million sales to break even and only made 4.3 million")

I don't know why they won't release actual statistics on digital sales,

this one is easy... it's all in the name of profit.

there's what i would call not really a conspiracy, but definitely an unspoken agreement to keep the profitability of PC gaming out of the limelight.

almost nobody wants to admit it's a goldmine, yet numerous stores and services have popped up over the years(lolorigin, loluplay) in order to get their own slice of the pie as opposed to before when valve was the only real player in the business(gaben is a billionaire after all).

generally i think that expecting actual sales numbers has become stupid when it comes to PC because nobody wants to really give it up but the proof of the blooming business is in the pure amount of software available for a single platform(regular, indie, f2p and subscription based) and it only keeps growing and growing.

PC hardware doesn't need to match console hardware in price when PC gamers save literal thousands from the software they buy. http://www.steamgamesales.com/
