My old one is a 5 year old TN panel and this was a great deal.

How does this compare to the ASUS VG248QE and the ASUS VS248H-P?

Too bad your laptop is too weak to actually run anything at that resolution.

I like the ports on the back! I really dislike when the ports are hidden, it just makes things a much bigger pain to plug in, and I feel like I'm going to break my HDMI cable at times. I've been enjoying my ASUS monitor though, so good luck with yours.

Any particular reason you're piking one with a super wide viewing angle? I've never really found the viewing angle to be much of a problem when using a smaller monitor, but I'm sure it'll be a nice touch anyhow.

How can it not run it?

And is 1200 a big increase from 1080p?

It's a nice step up. And it's for my desktop at home, although my laptop could probably handle gaming on it too.
