the graphs in task manager for CPU load showing the individual cores.

Is there an alternative?

It's still there, you just have to click Open Resource Monitor at the bottom under the Performance tab now.

Exactly how to get there: Task Manager > Performance > Open Resource Manager > CPU

It seems more detailed now than I recall in Win 7 but I'd need to check on my other PC which I'm kind of too lazy to do atm.

For whatever reason I didn't see that Resource Monitor option.
Its exactly what I needed.

Thanks!

Go to the Performance tab, right-click the utilization graph, highlight "Change graph to..." and select "Logical processors".
