Assassin's creed, where to start?

#1savagetvfanPosted 11/23/2013 10:09:21 AM
I'm really interested in starting to play assassin's creed, but I'm not to sure where to start. Is it worth it to start with 1? or can I start later in the franchise without being completely lost? Are there ones to ovoid? I want to play on PC, but have a ps3 too. Thanks for any help i get.

As a huge fan of the series, I recommend starting at 1. Yea it may be a little repetitive but it sets the stage for the other games, that being said I would say skip 3 if the Desmond story weren't so vital to the plot, you'd be pretty lost if you skipped any of them. They're all amazing games though. If you skip any, I'd skip the first one, as they recap the story at the beginning of 2, but I'd say play them all!

1 is easily the worst of the series, however it's not a bad game. Just very repetitive. 2 and Brotherhood are probably the best...though I haven't played Black Flag yet and it sounds like it's pretty good.

freerunning in Jerusalem makes 1 entirely worth it though. Beautiful games.

Watch videos of the first game to get the story and then just start with the 2nd game.

Also, Assassins Creed is one of the few franchises I recommend playing on Console. Why? Because buying them used is pretty cheap, and the Steam Sales of them aren't all too great.

Seriously, I've played them all, and if you want to make ANY sense of the story, don't play them out of order, there's no reason to, they're all good games!

But why on console? You said you recommend playing on console, then listed zero reasons why you should.
