Next gen console failure rate is very high

#1Dirk85UKPosted 11/23/2013 10:55:05 AM
Xbox One: On amazon.co.uk 36% of reviews gave it 1 star out of 5. On amazon.com 33% of reviews gave it a 1 star out of 5. Most claiming some sort of hardware fault, console being bricked from day 1.

PlayStation 4: On amazon.com 22% of review gave it 1 star out of 5. Most claiming "blue light of death" or some hardware fault, console being bricked from day 1.

Makes you feel glad to be part of the PC master race, right?

to be fair a lot of new high end video cards are faulty as well, with very loud coil whine

no, people with negative experiences tend to be the loudest. I know a dozen people with PS4 and XBone and they're all playing happily.

Negative reviews over shadow positive reviews. Positive reviews are few because people who don't have problems won't complain to the internet that their products works fine.

Dumb reassurance topic of insecure PC gamers.

Yeah, but the video cards still work. These consoles are DOA. Plus isn't it only the AMD cards that suffer from the coil whine?

you're a delusional fanboy.

Video cards can arrive DOA, and Nvidia cards suffer from coil whine as well.

Any part can arrive DOA, but 22% is an absurd failure rate by any standard.

I know it's possible for Video cards to arrive DOA. When I said "the video cards still work", I was referring to the cards that had the coil whine, they still work... Plus computer hardware that can arrive DOA is less than 1%. These consoles have a considerably higher rate of DOA.

Good job the failure rate isn't that high then. As stated above, the majority of those with working consoles will be playing them instead of shouting about how they work as intended. Did you write a review the last time you purchased a processor about how it was working fine?
