Can a 60Hz TN panel monitor be upgraded to 120Hz?

Perhaps by taking it to a monitor repair place? If so, is it possible for an IPS monitor to be upgraded to 120Hz?

Its possible depending on the monitor using Toastys Custom Resolution Utility. That allows you to overclock your monitor and do other stuff. Google it for more info since im not the most knowledgable on this area.

I think he means to physically change the hardware so that the native refresh rate is 120 Hz.

You can overclock. The panel will do what the panel can do.
