If you could make your own "Ultimate Keyboard", what would it look like?

-Cherry MX (reds for WASD, brown for everything else) with rubber contact frames for noise reduction, all over costar stabilizers (cherry on the spacebar).
-Embedded key touchscreens like the Maximus+an iPhone.
-Modular/detachable numpad-touchpad ala the DS Ultimate.
-Status screen and macro controller of the Cyborg STIKE 7.
-Embedded analog nub and scroll wheel, both w/ adjustable height under the left side of the spacebar.
-Backlighting with a super robust control set.
-Wireless.

Yeah...I can't even imagine how expensive that would be.

That would be a $1000 keyboard at minimum

Cherry MX Black, a couple macro keys, dedicated media keys, numpad, Costar stabilizers, a thick frame (like Corsair K70, not like Cooler Master or Ducky), a good font that doesn't rub away, strong and adjustable backlighting, and individual LEDs for each key

I want a keyboard that doesn't have the num pad or arrow/navigation/print screen & scroll lock section. Like Quickfire TK without the TK section. With Cherry MX Red switches.

These exist. Look up 60% keyboards. Examples are the KBT Pure pro and Happy Hacking pro 2 keyboard. That former can be found fairly cheap, the latter is pretty expensive.

Tempted to buy one right now... I wonder why these aren't more popular?

They are pretty popular among keyboard enthusiasts and people in some professions. Go to a site like Geekhack.org and you will see that half the people on that forum have one.

I'm perfectly happy with my levetron mech 5. It has a modular numpad that can go on the left or right side of the keyboard, or plug into an entirely different usb port and sit on your desk. Has MX black switches. comes with optional rubberized directional keys as well as the WASD keys. Though i found those rubbed so I only have the rubberized dirpad, plus they're lower profile and it just felt weird to type on. Has a volume knob, 6 foot braided cable, all that jazz. 2 USB 2.0 ports on it.

all keys are bindable to any macro, as well as 16 additional macro buttons, of which i make use of 8.
