Step into the way-back machine to circa mid-90's. There was a computer game I loved to play. I have been trying to remember its name, but I cannot. Here's what I do remember...
It was a racing game, but more like a tunnel-racer. You raced futuristic vehicles along in a straight-ish path and avoid obstacles as you try to make it to the finish line before your opponents. In between the races there were pixar-esque animations of fake humorous commercials.
An oddball part... the graphics must be set in 256 color mode to play.

Was this an officially released game, an indie game, a console game, a pc game a port of a classic game? Just a little more info if possible would help. I looked up 90's racing games and here's a list. Is it any of these?

I believe it was an official game. It came on a cd-rom iirc. I had not seen it on another system, so I assume it was exclusive to PC. It was not a 'classic game' at its time --- -SNES- Hasta Pasta! Sieh nur wie ich laufen kann... Mich fängst du nicht, ich bin der Lebkuchenmann!
It was more futuristic that megarace, the animations were cartoony, and the races were basically set up as tunnel-races for most segments.
I believe the vehicles hovered, and i know that the tracks were mostly in the vein of f-zero (if f-zero was a tunnel racer.) --- -SNES- Hasta Pasta! Sieh nur wie ich laufen kann... Mich fängst du nicht, ich bin der Lebkuchenmann!
