Crysis Warhead is really really good

I just played through the entire thing in one sitting. Took just under 5 hours. It was way more fun than either the original Crysis and 2 (haven't played 3 yet). The third person cutscenes were much more enjoyable than the first person ones in the first game and it felt much more action packed which was more enjoyable to me. Psycho is a more likeable protagonist than Nomad too (Nomad barely felt like a character at all). The difficulty felt perfect and the game didn't overstay its welcome either. The game still looks great too even after 5 years. As you can probably tell, I loved this game. Really impressed and actually pleasantly surprised with how much I liked it :)

I haven't beat it but that wasn't due to the game itself. I loved the bit I did play (got up to snow tank section only).

The only thing that annoyed me was the pop in of foliage which was worse than the original game. Superspeed plus akimbo smgs was a lot of fun in the trees.

Seriously? One of the few things I remember about Warhead is how remarkably *bad* the cutscenes are.

I loved Warhead too. Nothing beats playing as Jason Statham

Yeah I liked um a lot. The soundtrack was good too. Everything just came together perfectly for me in this game.

TBH, warhead feels like a less developed Crysis to me. The only real advantage it has going for it is that the easier settings are better balanced, but Delta is better balanced in the original.

Warhead is way better than the original for me, if only because they don't ruin the game halfway though

Warhead was the best mix of open combat and larger areas with more structured levels and storytelling. Crysis 2 and 3 went way over board with it and its no secret that the first game fell apart with its storytelling parts in the last 1/3.

I also always thought the hover chase w/ the kickass music playing was the best "scripted" sequence in the series.

Good to know. My only experience with the series has been Crysis 2, which I gave up on after a couple hours. Maybe I'll try picking this up though when it goes on sale next month.

I liked the original because it valued both styles of play, whereas Warhead was mostly just paced for action.
