i5-3337u should have intel hd 4000, not 4400 which i think is limited to haswell chips

you can play flash games and maybe starcraft/league of legend on low settings, but nothing more

That is not true. An intel HD 4000 can handle any game out there with low/medium settings on 720p. My friend has played Metro Last Light, Sleeping Dogs, Tomb Raider, and Crysis 2 with an intel hd 4000.

The laptop you have has a better video card, but that is it.

The 6 gigs of ram you get in a laptop isn't the same as the 6 gigs you would get in a desktop. What I mean by that is that even though it may seem like it would run fast, laptops aren't really equipped to play games well.

The components of the laptop will constantly overheat because there really isn't any space within the machine for it to "breathe". Laptops usually only have breathing room underneath the machine, and even with a fan underneath, it doesn't really help much to cool down the system. Whereas a desktop has vents on the back, front and depending on the age of the case, sides. This allows bit processes like running video games to occur without the machine going into a meltdown scenario.

I've had laptops where the hard-drives and ram have actually burnt out and had to replace them trying to run simple games like WC3(mind you this was 6 years ago)

A desktop for a little over that price can run games at least 5 times as well as that laptop ever could. I think of it this way, laptops were invented so people could get work done in distant places, or go on the internet.
