AMD v Intel/nVidia

Ok I got an 8350 with a 7970 and was gonna build a new PC next year, I was thinking an Intel i5 4670k with a 780, was just wondering what performance increase I'd get? I was gonna stay AMD but they seem to be falling behind even further than before now and they've been doing some slinky stuff with their drivers like not signing them and installing some raptr thing without even asking or saying anything about it

That upgrade isn't remotely worth the cost.

What performance increase would I get though? For an idea of what I'm getting I can play BF3 on medium at mostly 60fps but in more open maps it usually hovers around 50ish which is probably abit pathetic, and if it still isn't worth the cost what would be a good upgrade for next year?

50 FPS on medium? That sounds awfully low for that setup. And off I go to Google...

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-7970-ghz-edition-review-benchmark,3232-8.html

According to this benchmark, a 7970 should average 80 FPS on Ultra High. Of course, the CPU influences your FPS, too, but your CPU is far from bad.

That's singleplayer benchmarks I'm talking about online, single player I average about 70ish on ultra

Why would you go from a 6300 to a 8350?
Depending on the game, it could be anywhere from a 70% to a -30% difference.

I went from a 6100, bulldozer to a piledriver

And last time I came here people were always talking crap about AMD saying the whole FX line is disgustingly weak compared to the i5, now there's apparently no difference
