Hello y'all. I just got my first laptop (woot!) and was excited because I could finally play games (my old desktop was pretty much limited to plants vs zombies). Looking at, say, Skyrim, I have the right specs to run it except for one weird thing. It requires 512 MB of dedicated video RAM, andmy laptop apparently has...32. Seriously, what the heck? 32 MB is practically nothing! The laptop isn't super high-end, but it ain't bad. Is there something wrong with the information, or do I really have just a meager 32 MB of dedicated video RAM?
i5-4200u CPU @ 1.60 GHz / 2.30 GHz 6.00 RAM (5.88 usable) Total available graphics memory= 1792 MB Dedicated video RAM= 32 MB :( --- I'm a Jesus Geek and 100% proud of it. I also watch MLP:FiM, read math books for fun, play the ocarina, and wear bow ties. http://tinyurl.com/4s3cps8

What's the GPU, Intel HD? Integrated video does not have dedicated memory. It should run fine on at least low though.
Is that a scan from a website or the actual game?
And if your laptop does not have a dedicated GPU then it is low end for gaming no matter what the other specs are. --- You'll be my John G.

return laptop and then build desktop --- If you don't use Throwback Mode for a full week while logged in, you will lose access.

Nah thanks. Laptops are pretty handy things, and I'd much rather NOT return my laptop just because I have a question about it.
And yeah, it's Intel HD. --- I'm a Jesus Geek and 100% proud of it. I also watch MLP:FiM, read math books for fun, play the ocarina, and wear bow ties. http://tinyurl.com/4s3cps8
