Dark Souls

Anyone here own this game?

I'm a bit confused as to whether it's a combat game or more of an RPG? Is it like Ninja Gaiden?

Can anyone vouch for it? How much story does it have in it? (I don't really like story much these days in games, I like to jump straight into the action)

It's a great game, it's an RPG with very well done combat. It has an amazing story, but the game mostly focuses on combat.

Very little story
It's an action RPG
Combat is similar to the 3d Legend of Zelda games (lock on targeting)
Not like Ninja Gaiden, slower more strategic gameplay

It's like the dungeons part from Zelda, only much more difficult. I love the game.

Just how hard is it?

I'd classify it as closer to Ninja Gaiden Black than an RPG, in the sense that the outcome of combat is determined far more by your skills than by your stats. Though it's also quite different from Ninja Gaiden Black - combat is slow paced, deliberate, and weighty-feeling, and there is a lot more RPG style character customization and equipping/crafting, though not to the point where it diminishes the need to fight skillfully.
