I've been playing FPS games for about 10-12 years now, but now I'm just getting more frustrated than usual in BF4. Back in my CS days, my coach would always tell me to relax and try to analyze my surroundings before going in. It worked but now I just get frustrated more often.

Maybe its time for me to get away from FPS games for awhile and move onto RTS games like SC2 or Civ V. Thoughts on this?

Civ V isn't RTS.

But it is fun though. And easy to get into. Try it. If you're getting stressed out by first-person shooters, a turn-based strategy game might be a good idea.

You can't analyze your surrounding in an FPS... and you want to move to RTS?

Sure.Change can be good. I have to warn you though, playing Starcraft competitively is a very stressful experience, probably even worse that FPS games.

Civ on the other hand is very relaxing and i would totally recommend it.

Don't play fast paced one like Starcraft if you want a break. You can try Sins of A Solar Empire Rebellion.

Starcraft 2 is the most balanced FPS you will find that still has a big community, other than that probably Age of Empires 2 but its like 15 years old.

I've been meaning to get Civ V. I'll definitely pick it up Civ V Gold once it gets down to $12.50

more frustrated than usual in BF4

I'd say BF4 is your problem. It's current state of bugginess and general lack of polish leaves much to be desired, and leads to major rage over a period of time. My friends and I tend to end up playing for a couple hours until at least one of us just reaches the point we can't stand playing anymore.
