So not only is Battlefield 4 Origin only...

...you have to launch the game through a website?? Is this common?

Nope. BF4 is my first in the series.

It's exactly the same as BF3. Origin manages to not get in the way or cause any issues most of the time, so to me it's a non issue. And battlelog is actually pretty good, it has a great server browser.

BF3 did that too, it sucks donkey balls. Launch origin, launch browser, launch game. Good chance you add steam to the front of that too. Brilliant.

But its EA so "duh, we make good decisions."

The server browser is great. still seems weird though

I considered not buying BF4 because I knew I'd have to use the weird server browser. It took me about half an hour to set it up so it would work... it's kind of annoying that I have to do it through internet explorer... but it works. So I guess I can get over it.

Yeah, and all the little EA fanboys like to dismiss that fact.

It launches through my firefox. Did you set your default browser to anything other than IE?

BF3 worked fine for me with Chrome. Didn't have time to try BF4 this morning before work though.
