Can't Open Galaxy Tablet on PC?

#1XxTwisted26xXPosted 11/29/2013 10:38:05 PM
Been trying to overclock my Galaxy Tablet. However, my tablet is now stuck on the Galaxy boot up logo and won't progress. However I can still enter the recovery mode. I want to add a different overclocking file to my tablet via my PC thorugh USB cable... but now my tablet wont show up under My Computer on my PC. Anyone know what to do?

Go to xda-developers.com forums and poke around there on the forum for your device.

They can articulate help way better than probably anyone on this forum.

BTW, if you were downloading a kernel, you really should have been following a step-by-step on XDA anyway.

Good luck!

Thanks. I rooted it alright, but when I tried putting in the kernal thats when it got messed up. I was actually following an XDA guys intructions. Apparently the Kernal i installed was only for Honeycomb and I have the latest. From the coments the writer told people who installed the wrong OS kernal to flash it over with the current one... but thats where the problem is, I cant flash over it because I cant open my tablet on my PC to add the new kernal :/

There is mostly likely a "Click here if your device is bricked" topic on the subforum.

Are you sure you have Honeycomb? Most cheap tablets run Ice Cream Sandwich or Jellybean.

Alternatively, you could reflash by putting the kernel directly onto the microsd card, if your computer has a slot for it.

I dont think I can remove the SD card :/, no slot for it. I have the Samsung tablet 10.1, like the first oen they released. Is there really no way to access the Tablet from the PC in the safe mode?

Maybe, maybe not, I'm not sure. I'm good at rooting and doing custom roms and recoveries on Motorola, Asus, and other "Stock" devices. I don't think Samsung's offering is stock. But like I said, there is definitely a thread there with instructions on how to restore your tablet, and then you can try again.
