skyrim crashes when I load it.

I tried taking a screenshot early game, and now when I load the game, it crashes a few seconds after the game starts what do I do?

my specs:
I5-2500k
4GB ram
GTX 570
vista 32-bit

edit: It's not just screenshooting that crashes my game. it seems to crash a lot. first it was during the intro cutscene, but I was able to fix that. now it crashes while the people talk after making my character. I got to where the woman mentioned a soul.

uninstall all your mods
delete the game
double triple make sure everything is deleted by going into steamapps and just straight up deleting the Skyrim folder
redownload the mods you had before one at a time and test each one to see if it crashes your game.

Then once you have a clean install, download mod organizer from the nexus to keep your game directory vanilla and never have to worry about doing this again.

I haven't downloaded any mods. the only thing I have other than the game is the high res texture pack. I don't have any of the paid DLC either. it's been crashing since I installed it. I believe I have the latest drivers(at least for my video card) too.

How does it crash? BSOD, straight to desktop, to desktop with error message, freeze?

Lol... people are recommending reinstalling the game over checking local contents?

- Right click Skyrim in your Steam library
- Properties
- Local files
- Verify integrity

Delete your opening videos from your skyrim data, maybe if you can get to the menu screen it will work.

I can get to the menu screen easily. it's after I load my quick save that I have problems.
