NVIDIAGeForceGTX780M 4GB GDDR5
3.5GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7
16GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X8GB
3TB Fusion Drive

That's what I'm working with right now. What games would I be barred from @ max settings? Which popular games will I be able to run?

I'm not sure at 1440p, but at 1080p you'll smoke most games.

Awesome. That resolution makes more sense since I'll be using a TV.

Oh crap. I read your GPU wrong. 780M...not sure how different that is to a regular 780.

BTW, why a mobile GPU? Is this a laptop we're talking about or something?

GTX780M is like a slightly underclocked GTX 680.

I'm using one right now with an i7 4700MQ and 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM. Got any question for a specific game? I can play Crysis 3 on all high and some very high with a custom cvar to increase some settings. I recently tried putting shadows to medium which gave me extra frames with no noticeable image quality drop so I'm sticking with it.

It's an iMac that I'll be dual booting Windows on. I know I could get a better Windows platform with the same money but its not primarily being used for gaming.

Not on a laptop. 1080p is good though.

Meh, didn't see the iMac. I don't know how it will run compared to a pure windows system. A mobile card gets about 20-25% lower fps than it's desktop version though depending on settings.

780m is roughly equivalent to a 660ti but without the overclocking headroom, it's basically the same gpu as a 680 clocked as high as it can be without overheating inside of a laptop enclosure. Since yours isn't actually in a laptop you may be able to push it a bit but I'm not really familiar with how an iMac is set up.

It's a very solid card and should run every game out currently at high/60 FPS/1080p, though some games will have dips, Metro: Last Light, Bioshock Infinite, and Minecraft (FTB) come immediately to mind, Metro for GPU reasons, bioshock for HDD/SSD read times, and FTB for CPU reasons (I had to OC my 3570k to 4.4 to get a semireliable 60 FPS and I still get drops). It won't max every game though, but these are mostly the games that weren't designed to be maxed.
Every time I try to go where I really wanna be it's already where I am, 'cuz I'm already there
