Hey man, the dude only has a 250GB hard drive. That 60GB is like the same ratio as a 120GB SSD to a 500GB hard drive!
I lol'd too

You can get a terabyte from amazon for just over 500 right now.

You can also buy a laptop for just over $500. Look's like OP is trying to spend less than $80, so the fastest 120GB under $80 will do.

I'd jump on that 840 EVO or Pro. The point of getting an SSD is for speed, and that SanDisk isn't that great. Samsung has the fastest consumer SSD's for a reasonable price, so I would recommend one of those. If you want to go for another brand, the only other brand that has been good to me is Kingston. My HyperX 3K was a steal when I got it, before the EVO came out.

EDIT: Saw the thing about SSD's being 2.5" and just want to say is all you need is a bracket or adapter. This one is just the price of shipping after rebate:

Or some SSD's come with a mounting bracket, but those typically only come in the pricier upgrade bundles.

I see. Aight, ill look into getting rhe samsung then

Same price as the one I linked to from microcenter except the rebate makes it $10 less. i hate dealing with rebates though.. but I'll probably get that. Looks good and in my price range.

the rebate on the link i gave you is instant. no mail-in nonsense

You want an MLC drive rather than a TLC drive.

The best one you will find is the Samsung 840 Pro. The Crucial M500 is a much cheaper option that's MLC.
http://ssd-comparison.whoratesit.com/Compare/Samsung-840-Pro-256GB-vs-Crucial-M500-240GB/1408vs1551

Samsung 840 Pro still reigns supreme, but the M500 comes in a 960 GB capacity whereas the 840 Pro only goes up to 512 GB. The M500 is also a fair bit cheaper, as the 960 GB version is $499 right now.

I see the stats, are those differences noticeable when using it? Enough to actually sway decision on getting one over the other?

Personally I wouldn't buy a SSD that has a Sandforce controller except for the ones made by Intel.

Anyway, I think I'll just spring for this:

It's $80 after using a $10 coupon.

250 GB SSD drives are way way faster than the smaller drives.

go for a 256 GB if you can! It'll be worth it by a long show.
