I need some help on setting a budget to build a pc

So I'm considering building a desktop pc for the first time and I was looking for a general idea on how much I should spend.

Right now, I've been playing on my laptop which isn't beefy but it runs LoL just fine and it barely handles CSgo(which are my 2 favorite games at the moment).

I do own a ps4 and sometime down the road an x1. So games like BF4, COD, etc... I will get on console. So I would say so far my range is between $400 and $1000.

I don't need a keyboard, mouse or monitor so I think that may help a little.
So to sum it all up, I just want something decent that maybe in the near future i could upgrade later.

Also, I've been recently introduced to this site http://www.logicalincrements.com/ and was thinking around very good or great. any opinions?

Thanks!
My knowledge of computers is very minimal and I've never done this before so I'm a little nervous on handling each part by hand.
How long would a build like this last?

3 years? By then you'll upgrade the GPU or not be able to play newer games

That GPU is as good as the one in the PS4

Really that's a fine build, but it's just an example. $600 will get you a decent gaming PC, I've done it myself, and since then I've upgraded everything but the disk drive in that rig.

After your first build you may catch this bug where you just want to build more...
