I'm on Windows 7 using Chrome and I remember I used to be able to .mid files within the browser (like on the website vgmusic.com for example)

Is there anything I can do about this? It's a hassle having it automatically download the files and stuff. I liked it when it was embedded (is that right?)

Thanks.

There's a quicktime plugin for chrome.... I'm listening to a midi file in chrome on windows 7 right now with it...

Well, it tries to download it by default... I think you'd have to point it directly at the file to get it to play in the browser by default

What plugin would that be?

the uh... quicktime plugin? You know... quicktime by apple?
https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2445742

I had to go and set chrome as the default player for midi files, and like I said, even if I click on the link it still downloads, but if I click it again it plays it in chrome... I don't know if there's a way to set it to just download it to a browser cache and play it in chrome immediately.

find a .mid file on your hard drive... right click on it.... select properties and then find the "opens with:" part and change that to chrome. You might have to browse to it since chrome isn't going to be considered the default for a sound file...

Ah thanks that helped. Sadly it's still downloading the files ha ha, but it's fine. This is good.
