Why are graphic card dimensions all over the place? It doesn't help my stupid 5770 dimensions are in cm and I don't have a ruler on me. My biggest fear is a better graphics card being just too big for my case. The 5770 has some room though.

That is because the board partners come with their own non reference models. They usually don't limit how much they change the size of the cards.

I would personally get a 270 over the 270X. They're basically the same card except the 270X is able to draw more power. You'll easily be able to overclock the 270 to 270X speeds and save $20.

But then can't you just overclock the 270X and have it be faster than an overclocked 270?
