No, his monitor just doesn't support 1080p and has a max resolution of 1360x768.

There are some TVs that are 720p and accept 1080p but its downscaled.

It wasn't necessarily running in 1080p, could have been running in 720p or 1080i.

Either way, your visual issues with 1080i are to be expected, it's a garbage video mode.

Probably this, my TV will accept a 1080p input despite only being 1080i, especially given people in this topic have looked up TC's monitor and told him it doesn't support it.
