Sapphire R9 290X went up on Amazon :-/

It was $549.99 for a minute. Now it's $700 plus. How long do you think it will take to go back down? I have to buy from amazon because I have gift cards.

Maybe they were shipped in Nvidia boxes and that confused Amazon.

maybe they'll correct it? There were like 15 available at the time too. I know amazon usually compares pricing data with other companies and lowers theirs accordingly. They do this every week or so. But that card should not be $700+ dollars.

Good ol Amazon. I see the price is still the same on Newegg. Shame you only have gift cards to Amazon.

I've heard you can buy the 290 (non-x) card and mod the bios to turn it into a 290x but I have no idea if that unlocks all the cores though. If it does then perhaps you should look into an r9 290 instead since they are listed at their actual msrp.

Not sure I should have to explain this really, but that $700 card is not sold by Amazon. It's sold through Amazon. Big difference.

The one through Amazon is actually the most expensive.

Ah, I see. Price will probably adjust when they get more in-stock. Maybe they are trying to discourage people from ordering it when they don't have any lol. They do price match themselves within a certain period of time, so you could contact them if you want to be on a waiting list at the old price.
