For gaming at 1080p...a 770 or 780?

How big is the difference to those that have owned both?



I've read it isnt that big?

At 1080p both cards will be fine for 60 fps. You might have another year or two of max settings with the 780 though.

770 is more then enough. Even a 760 OC (which I have) is fantastic for 99% of games, and of the 1% that make it bleed, its almost always the case of one notch down from maxed not even being a noticeable difference in motion.

The 780 will give you about 20% better performance for $170 more than a 770... but the 780 does have the bigger bus width and higher VRAM to support games down the line that will require more than 2GB at max, so I would go for that since I can't find 2GB acceptable anymore going into the future, even at 1080p.
