I have an overclocked i5 3570k @ 4.4Ghz. On games like Crysis 2 and BF3 maxed at 1080p, I average around 60C.

I won't accept that it actually hit 30 because it would only sit there for a fraction of a second before going back down to 29

Yes, I also get 30, but only if I do nothing with it. When it is under load, like playing BF3 and XCom Declassified, it usually run at around 60. If I only clock it to 3.9, it usually stay around 55.

My 8350 @ 4.8GHz hits around 50C under heavy load. I've got an H80 cooler with arctic silver 5 thermal paste though. It's a little under the average stock 8350 temps using a stock cooler.
