I got a free computer from work they were getting rid of, but it will not turn on after hitting the front power switch. I opened it up and noticed there is no cable or nothing connected to the power switch to tell the computer to turn on (weird that its not there as I doubt my company did anything). So without ordering a replacement part, is there anyway to start this computer with other means? Below is the link to the power switch cable I'm referring to.

if you know what pins it connects to you could start it by jumping with a paperclip.

but id suggest that this will get annoying and if the computer works, buy a connector

I dunno. You can start a power supply by itself by bridging certain wires together, you might be able to do some kind of motherboard trick like that.

Just order a replacement switch though. They're very cheap.

Even a really nice switch like one of Lamptron's anti vandal switches is like $19 and comes with the cable.

bridging wires on the mobo cable of the PSU is for powering the PSU when its not connected to a motherboard. all he has to do is connect the power jumper pins on the mobo. for 1/4 a second
