I remember seeing all the predictions that it would collect dust. Just as it is right now at the two stores I've seen that even have one.

My dear mortal, don't you realize? The secret to my winning this board is the fact that you can grow without limits while the others never surpass theirs.

For $99?
For a marginal cost of much less than that _

Remember when Ouya was all the rage?

Um, nope. I remember when it was talked about a lot but it was hardly being hyped up. Discussion =/= rage.

It's an emulator machine for $99. Any other legitimate emulator machines that can connect to your tv?

gamestick

Neat. Didn't know Gamestick could play emulators.

Seems to be cheaper than the Ouya too.

I didn't think it would be as bad as it is. On paper it sounded like there was some potential, it's a low cost console that was crowd funded and designed to be very friendly to people who want to mod the console which was in response to the major console companies voiding warranties and banning people from online access over modding. As for the Android aspect, most people got the wrong idea about that. It isn't the Android player, it just has Android OS in it. The system is designed for it's own games which are required to be free to play with cash add ons. From what I've heard/seen, the one great game on Ouya is The Amazing Frog? which is a completely insane physics based game that recently added a multiplayer shooter mode.

I'm not going to s*** on them for trying something new. It wasn't a success but they did get it out there, that's more than most people can accomplish. I think with new consoles, like going outside of the big 3, there is next to no room to actually make a difference because most gamers just want that top dollar console with the best graphics and aren't going to be sold on the idea of an indie console regardless of taking new risks for consoles. Steam Machine might do alright because it's made to be a powerful gaming machine. But something like Ouya doesn't seem like there's much room for a profit, like everyone who really wanted it put down $100 in the Kickstarter. The rest sat back and watched the chaos unfold for the launch, which was the smart thing to do.
