So I got a new 2tb hard drive but it's not showing up. My PC is reading it, but when I go into disk management unallocated. I know that there must be a simple solution for this, but I can't seem to figure it out. Does anyone know what I need to do? My OS is Windows 7 64bit.

in disk management, (right) click on the unallocated space and format it.

I don't see any option to format. The only options I can see when I right click on it is "New Simple Volume" "Properties" and "Help"

Okay. I figured it out. I had to select the New Simple Volume. And then that allowed me to format my hard drive. It's now showing up. Thanks for the help.
