If you check out xoticpc, they have customizable laptops. Your friend might be able to get a 760M gpu for around the same price for the one you posted.

The Lenovo Y500 series looks like it has better performance and a much better price.

the lenovo one is easily better performance-wise but that asus is more aesthetically pleasing and is pretty nice to hold
