My buddy is looking for a new gpu, and newegg has a sale, he was thinking about getting the 660, maybe you guys know of something better?

660 ti should be the nvidia you look for in that price range, or maybe a 760 on a really good sale. The amd 200 range should be a 7950 but they're super inflated right now. A 7870 ghz is a good card for the 150$ range though.

I should add I am not saying 660 TIs are all over the place at 200$, but they probably should be.

You can get the new R9 270X for about the same price as the 7870 GHz with a higher stock clock and mantle.

For $200 i'd go with an r9 270x.

Mantle works with 7870, and 7870 is usually a lot cheaper than 270x.

7870XT, 7950, 7970, and 670 hit $200 sometimes. If not, 660Ti, 760, or 7870.

Get the R9 270 instead of the 270X since you can easily overclock it to match the X version and save money at the same time.
