Good game on Steam for $20 or less?

Me and my friend wanted to be able to add each other, so we were just going to buy a game. An RPG, or shooter is good. We just don't want to get a crap game with our money.

Tomb Raider is 80% off right now. Also Far Cry Blood Dragon is like 5 dollars.

Far Cry Blood Dragon is like 5 dollars.

That game is great fun as long as you can enjoy some cheezy 80's jokes... If you were born 13 years ago then all the jokes will probably go right over your head...

Other suggestions:
StarBound (if you don't mind it being "Early Access")
Torchlight II (edited to fix the link)
Fallout 3 GOTY (or if you're cheap you could get the base game alone for $10)
Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition (Same deal, Base game $10)

Borderlands 2, not the GOTY edition. $7.49. 22 something for a 4 pack if that matters.

Tomb Raider Collection $13.99

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon $5.09

Metro Last Light 13.59. Original is only slightly more due to not being on sale.

The current Humble Bundle has a few gems in it. Serious Sam 3 and Natural Selection 2 are good and in the first games case has co op if decide to get 2.
Current price is $4.16 for the 2 I mentioned and the other ones.

Definitely get the Humble Bundle. It has a couple of great multiplayer games you'll be able to play together, too.

Risk of Rain:

Getting your ass kicked is just more fun with friends. Requires the host to port forward though.
