If you have a 360 or a PS3, get Bayonetta. Now.

I wouldn't bother with the PS3 version, it's beyond pure ass.

Darksiders

He said good. The game is highly overrated.

If you have a Wii, No More Heroes and its sequel. They may not be exactly what you're looking for, but they're good regardless. The second one has better gameplay, though.

Surprised no one's said Chivalry yet.

Chivalry isn't a hack and slash in the normal sense of the term. Its too focused on countering and stuff like that, most hack and slashes involve slaughtering hordes of enemies in a stylish fashion.

Stylish. This is the word I look for when I want to tell people why I don't think GoW and Castlevania aren't hack n slashes.

If something's overrated, that doesn't automatically make it good.

Also, Darksiders 1, not 2. 2 became weird and Skyrim-ey and boringly repetitive.

Also, why the hell would they replace Famine and Pestilence with "Strife" and "Fury"? That just sounds stupid.

Oh, I had heard that patches had fixed it somewhat. That's too bad.

I played it, and having never seen the 360 version, I wouldn't describe it as beyond ass. It was actually awesome that I didn't mind the loading screens.

I had heard the framerates were horrid, though.

Maybe it's just me, but I found nothing wrong at all. Only time I've ever noticed and been pissed off by frame rates was Dark Souls' Blighttown on PS3
