and it doesn't make it any slower if you know how to use windows.

there's no navigation required. I press the windows key and the first 3 letters o what I want to open and I'm in my desired application. It's not rocket science and it's loads faster than clicking on a start menu and rifling through folders or going to a corresponding spot on the list.

If you're using your mouse for anything ui related you're computering wrong.

You should probably use DOS then.

Naw, y'all just need to step up your productivity game.

It is already back. My friend has windows 8 on her laptop and it is just like a normal looking desktop from windows 7

The Start button being back is just Microsoft's way of giving everyone the finger. You see it and think "oh! I can access my stuff like I used to!" and then you click it to be forced back to the tablet interface.

That's an aftermarket program then. I'm running 8.1 and when you click the start button it brings you to the start screen.

The thing is that Microsoft never put in the start button to appease our demographic. They did it because too many old ladies were calling customer service. We know how to use computers and cope with new interfaces, but theres an entire market that cannot adapt as easily as us, most who have supported microsoft since windows 95 or 3.1 still don't know how to maintain their own computer.

A frikken start button lol, but you can download that.

I really hated windows 8 when I first got it, until i figured out the big button to the top left is my desk top. since I leave it in desk top mode, I dont see a difference fro windows 7.
