It's settled then, steam sharing is good for nothing.

It's not a free games service. Why did you think they would do that?

Maybe YOU'RE good for nothing.

I can go to a friend's house, log in and authorize his computer, and then while I'm at work or otherwise unable to use my account anyway, he can play some of my games.

Admittedly it would be nice if I could play one game on my account while a friend "borrowed" another game, but considering it's not possible to share my account otherwise without leaving my account logged in at a friend's house, it doesn't really inconvenience me any more than usual.

Easy there pal. I didn't insult you in anyway.

I just think there's lots of limitations in the function, that's not worth the time.

The ability to play games you don't own? That is an amazing feature, I am understanding why they would restrict it so much since it's so good.

It's like pirating games except fully legal and you can play online. I can play Saint's row 4, Batman: Arkham Origins, and COD: Ghosts without having to pay a single cent because my friends are giving me access to their games.

and when I don't have access it's okay, I have my own library of games I can play which I share out games so my friends can play stuff like Bioshock Infinite and Payday 2.

This feature cured me of pirating, I don't need to anymore with this feature.

That was meant to be a joke. I forgot the smiley. :)

Seriously though, if you don't think being able to share games (which you couldn't do without breaking their TOS before) is worthless then you're not thinking right. The reason steamguard has to be enabled is to prevent people from abusing it, and/or hacking people to force them to authorize a computer...

So far there's only one scenario I've heard of that is total BS and needs to be fixed (if it isn't already) and that's if I am playing a non-steam game with the steam overlay and steam kicks a friend off...there's no reason for that. There could be more wrong with it but I haven't had much of a chance to play around with it.

Also it kinda sucks that games that use another account (like Uplay or GFWL) won't work with steam sharing...
