I enjoyed the first game, but it was the only one I played because then uPlay came out so I dumped ubisoft.

I know... steam fanboy but I hate those french b*****s, and they clearly hate PC gamers. They want to treat me like a pirate, then f*** them I won't buy their games anymore. My backlog is large enough without ubisofts s***.

No big loss. I'd say Ubisoft is one of the more overrated big name developers. Shallow gameplay supported by cutscenes is a crap way to design a game but they seem to love chasing after that casual mass appeal dollar.

Also, it was kinda insulting playing Far Cry 3 and seeing them cannibalize their own library for unoriginal game mechanics. Thanks for letting me climb vantage points to unlock sidequests on my map but I've already been doing that in the AC series, so you can keep it. Seriously, why the **** do they think it's a good idea to re-use game mechanics?
well I am not like your dad. I worked as a chef at TGIF-Mattson

Play the first game, if you can't get into it, watch the modern day story on Youtube.

Play 2, then Brotherhood, skip Revelations.

3 is important for story but is utter garbage to play.

4 is alright.

1 had the only good Desmond parts.
2 and brotherhood were the best games.
Who even cares after that?
Error. Human is dead, mismatch.

Play them in order. Playing the games is like watching one big movie, and you'll get a better experience out of it if you play them in order.

At best, you could get reasonably by by skipping Brotherhood and Revelations, as you'll only miss some of the modern day story.
Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 2. Lets revitalize this game eh?

3 and 4 are the only good ones.
MSI 660 GeForce 2GB | i5 3570K | AsRock Z77 Pro3 | Seagate Barracuda 500GB | Ballistix 8GB | Corsair CX430

They all leave you feeling bored with 4-6 hours left of story gameplay in it.

I have only finished Brotherhood and 3, however. Black Flag means I have to do a bunch of sailing before I can beat it (no thanks, I've done like 6 hours of just sailing missions I'm bored with it) and 1 is near impossible to get past the first 3 hours.

Cool series that's better left off a movie than a video game. The real life story with the Animus is even worse.

You might want to stagger your play of the series, though. While each one makes gameplay improvements upon the last, they still feel similar enough that you'll probably get bored halfway through the second game you play.
