because selling it on a sale for $5 while showing a 75% off generates more sales than selling it always at that price. --- http://raptr.com/Darkcloud1987

It's Steam, who gives a s*** about non-sale prices?
Gotta go with this. If I see something as 20 dollars on Steam, the first thing that pops in my head is, "oh, that should be fun when its 5 - 7.50 in a month / few months". At least for older games.

I recommend getting it when it's on sale. It's worth even a full price (a single playthrough with all side quests is around 30-35 hours). It's roleplaying the way RPGs should be designed: the dialogue and choices actually matter. Save for the last two dungeons, which are ridiculously unbalanced, the game is a total joy to play. --- The statement below is true. The statement above is false.

It's worth more than a lot of games sold at full $60 price released this year. --- "What's a strategy game? You mean like Mass Effect?"- A console gamer

I bought it in a sale a while ago but I hear it's a broken and buggy mess. What do PCH? --- "What we've got here is a failure to communicate!" "I'm you, I'm your shadow!"

Actually TC makes a good point. Most games that old should be at most $9.99. Don't believe me, go look the price of any 6th gen game you know on Steam.
The key thing to note here is that the game is by ACTIVISION and all ACTIVISION games never go down in price because ACTIVISION are greedy b*stards (I believe even more so than EA since even EA games are much cheaper). just look at their games: Prototype, Call of Duty classic etc. NONE has ever gone below a 50% discount on Steam I can tell you that
