I want a modern new gen turn based jrpg too.
We don't get anything and it sucks! Everyone stop making goddamn shooters and make this for us instead!

for the PC, its a bit tough, but..

Emulator + FF6/7/8/9/10/10-2/12 (these were the ones I played, previous ones might be good as well)

they aren't really that modern, but they are deep and pretty good

For the PC it's tough. Your mostly stuck with older titles. And strangely enough the closest thing I can think of to a JRPG for the PC is actually a western RPG that's already been mentioned in the form of Fallout 1&2.

If you want to go really fun and Amazingly deep get "Darklands" from good old games.
Easily one of my favorite RPGs.

Does require Dosbox though.

Just buy XCOM:EU. It's much better than any turn based RPG out there.
