I wold like to know your thoughts on the next gen consoles such as the PS4 and X1 having the same mods as the PC gaming community. Just look at these polls:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/691087-playstation-4/68075027

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/691088-xbox-one/68075292

People will agree. We should have the rights as PC gaming to have the same mods.

What are your thoughts?

The hardware on PS4 and X1 will soon be too outdated and weak to play many mods, plus the fact that they will have to be programmed with PS4 and X1 installers unless you do some homebrew on your console. In other words, do you have the right? Sure, if that's what you'd like to call it. Will modders do it? I'm going to go ahead and assume no.

Ask your console manufacturers to open the walls of their gardens. Until that happens you're just trying to make concrete in to clouds.

Mods aren't as simple as yes or no. Even the smallest of mods for Skyrim add to the amount of memory the game requires to run well. This may not be the case for the X1 and PS4 for some time, but the PS3 and 360 were completely tapped out for what they could do. Even something as simple as a new hairstyle could push the game beyond what the system can handle.

So should they have mods? Yeah, it would be cool. Could they have mods? Probably not.

So lets make the PS4 and X1 like the PC then. Lets swap out parts like the graphical unit and computer chips like the PC. Maybe then we can exchange for exclusive games like KH3, FFXV, MGSV, GT7, Forza 5, GoW, Halo, etc. Then we can play SC2 on the console.

Also, consoles will never have sales as great as PC as long as consoles suffer from used sales and systems selling under value.

At this point you're kinda missing the point of a console

I think it would great for consoles to have mods. I am always for opening up closed platforms. However, I don't think it would be feasible. Games on consoles are typically maxed out optimally and I doubt modders would find enough available system resources to apply their mods.

Not anything I'd complain about. Mods are good for everyone. I am just not sure if those graphics mod will actually put a large load on the consoles.
