I am replacing my 60GB SSD boot drive with a newer 240GB SSD...

Naturally, this means I will have to have a fresh install for windows.

Two questions.

1.) Will it mess up all my program installs I have on my D: drive, due to the registry being meddled with...

2.) If so, would this be a good time to upgrade to the latest version of windows? 8?

2) If you really want it then I guess now would be the most opportune time at least until the next time you do a reinstall.

My sig isn't wrong as it isn't referencing anything in particular. I just like that I can replace one letter in the same word 3 times and make a sentence from it.

OK. I think I will just reinstall windows 7 then.
