Here's where it gets sketchy... say if you really had 3x 4GB cards and were using all that VRAM, that's 12GB you gotta cover in system memory and windows premium has a 16GB cap

but anyway, you'd need 4K or some displays to do that

Hahaa

3x 4gb cards = still equals 4gb vram

Take anyone's else advice but this guys.

Lol

Uh, it still doubles RAM useage

anyone who ever monitored memory useage with sli/xfire would know this

but yes, I know it doesn't double effective VRAM

let's say I had a RAMdisk at 32GB and I wanted to offload a game for the duration onto it

X79 to the rescue

Three 760s would choke two 780s like a *****

Lolol

2 760's barely beats 1 non-ti 780, what makes you think 3 could beat 2 780's.

Edit: I hope you're trolling or you're freaking stupid.

Seriously TC just ignore this guy. There is not a single other person on the planet that would recommend X79 for gaming.

Here's a benchmark from the same thing that idiot posted, except this is a benchmark of an actual game:

http://www.hardwareluxx.de/images/stories/galleries/reviews/2013/intel-4820k/diagramme/cod-high.png

The 2011 socket CPU gets a whopping 2 more fps than the socket 1150 CPU.

I'll run a couple of those by some friends and get back to you afterwards.

This is just research til the week of the 26th

the thing about benchmarks is they don't represent actual in game performance

lack of bandwidth, high latencies, low frequencies; these things cause stutters and hiccups that are not represented by benchmarks
