how is the noise and heat? I hear that they gt loud and such. I have a vapor X HD7970 GHz right now and it's very quiet and on load hit about 60 degrees Celsius.

it can be loud if you turn the fan up past 65ish and for me it was keeping at 68- 72c playing bf4 on ultra settings with 4xaa. If I turned the fan up more it will stay around 55c but it's also pretty loud...and 68-72c is just fine for these cards.

how do you adjust the fans and such? I've only ever messed around with that stuff with my sapphire card because of trixx. Made it very easy to do.

100% sounds ridiculous. 55% is also pretty loud.

Do you run an open test bench when you game too?

Sure.

Really that isn't the point though. You can compare that to tests done in a similar manner with other cards and clearly hear that the 290X is very loud.

"Very loud" is relative and subjective.

HardOCP's take for instance.
