There's no shame in a "collection," but if you truly intend to play every game in your 250 game "backlog" then you should probably reflect on your life a little bit.

I never had a backlog until I started copping humble bundles and the like.

Now I buy them for like 1 game and ignore the rest.

PC hardware doesn't need to match console hardware in price when PC gamers save literal thousands from the software they buy.

The great thing about buying a new PC is that there's always games to play. Buy a new console at launch? Be prepared to wait a while for the really good games to come out. With PC though, they're already there waiting.

Don't think of it as a backlog, think of it as a stockpile... Like I just built my new computer and spent a large sum on some very good parts that I expect to last me a while, but I already had most of the games I wanted anyway so now was the perfect time. I may not buy a lot this winter sale, but those games aren't going anywhere.

So only buy games you want to play. IT's not tough.
