What's the logical "next upgrade" for my PC?

Get a new monitor?
Add more RAM?
Add an SSD?
Add a BluRay drive?
Other?

CPU: i5-3570k
GPU: Radeon HD 7850
RAM: 4GB
HDD: 1TB
Monitor: 720p Vizio TV, 23". Not really a monitor, but it's still been good

With that monitor, you don't need to upgrade. Playing games at low resolutions isn't going to require more power.

So monitor. Then GPU. Then RAM. But you should be fine for awhile if you're fine with 720p.

I can set it to 1920x whatever it is, so I'm not sure if the resolution is that bad. I just know the old box for the TV says 720p.

Edit: Also not saying you're wrong, I'm happy to buy a monitor next. I just am no monitor expert and want the correct info out there.

You can set it to 1080p, but it will just display 720p, because that is the max resolution of that tv, it takes the 1080p signal, shrink it and output a smaller image.

That said, if you don't see a problem with how it looks, don't worry about it and just set your resolution to 720p, it will make games run better.

I would say that if you don't feel like you need a new monitor, an SSD would be a good upgrade.

You're telling me I've been running this recommended 1920x1080 resolution in my games all this time and my monitor hasn't been giving it to me?

I am OUTRAGED.

I'll take monitor recommendations, and then yeah, maybe an SSD to get things up and running faster.

Outraged? You knew it was a 720p monitor, where did you think the extra pixels were coming from?

Get monitor, at least 1920x1080, or if you want 2560x1440, go ahead though that GPU will start to struggle with that resolution. Size is up to you.

Sarcasm. I hadn't really thought about it, but I'm not actually outraged.

Any recommendations on a monitor? I could go 1440 if that's considered worth it, depending on the price of each.

You would need a beefy GPU if you want to game at 1440p and have it run at a smooth 60fps with high/ultra settings.
