I'd rather never need to use virtual memory ever, plan to use multiple GPU with such a budget, and perhaps try the RAMdisk every now and then.

Also, I'd get 3 1080p display instead of the 1440p

A lot of people are recommending the 780 Classified. Is it better than the Lightning?

Honestly the build seems really crappy for how much you are spending.

basically don't buy a $500 GPU without better power phases, unlocked voltage, quality capacitors, etc

well, unless you don't overclock. if you don't, just save the card for somebody who cares

Well, don't set a budget. A good computer is about 5K. The kind that makes the girl you just met at that bar that you managed to take to your place just drop her pants. That kind of good.

Below 1k you can still make a great gaming computer that you wouldn't mind being set on your desk or out of sight, that you don't hear whirring away, or has distracting lighting and gaudy stars and stripes

About 2k-3k you really don't have the earnest cash for an awesome computer and begin to wonder why you didn't just grab an elbow or a new muffler

Go to Alienware and customize one. I just spent about $5k on one and it is F-ing amazing! Save up your money, and you won't be disappointed. Compromise and regret.

I agree. Maybe his numbers are wrong, I didnt bother looking them up.

I put together a 4770k and 780 system for 1800 a little while back.
